Prove It - How Can One's Belief Be So Strong?
One evening during a quick dinner, I caught a quick glimpse of a reality show on the small screen. The object of the show appeared simple enough, to be yourself and at the same time utilize all the natural emotions of human kind. The intriguing twist to the show was the emotion tools available for each player to utilize, tools that are a part of one’s life path. The players of the reality show were at their best in portraying each emotion tool, some more competitive than other players. With just a few minutes of reviewing the program, you could easily recognize the outcome. The winner would be the one who simply manipulated each emotion tool to his/her advantage among the other contestants. I begin to think about the emotions portrayed in this game, and how one’s emotions are sprinkled daily throughout each lifes path. We all at some time during each day bring out at least one of our own emotion tools – love, hate, envy, jealousy, kindness, respect, belief, happiness, and sadness just to name a few. Belief is an emotion tool that often develops into other areas of emotions. One’s beliefs are powerful and deep within – agree or disagree with a certain belief and it will develop into love, hate, jealousy, kindness, respect, happiness or sadness. Wars begin with the deep emotion of belief, and families embrace with the love and happiness of belief. Quite often in my own personal beliefs, I receive a simple but strong request from an emotion tool. “Prove it” Since the beginning of time, the question of a life-after has been the focus from nonprofessional to scholars with diverse beliefs. There are those who believe that life is simply just so many years on earth in which we experience a death and no longer exist. Thoughts derived from the fact that life after has yet to be fully proven. There are those who believe that it was already been proven many years ago, on a cross. Due to my profession, so many times one’s belief appears in both forms. Often I will share thoughts regarding the skepticism of life-after. Being skeptical simply states that one is still learning to understand. Even one who believes in a life-after will base their skepticism regarding how it is portrayed. One may belief upon our completion of earth’s plan we simply ‘wait’ to be brought up again, or go to a ‘higher place’ and wait for loved ones to join. Because of our emotion tool of belief being such a strong emotion, one needs solid ‘proof’ to accept anything else but their own belief. Prove it. I guess in ones own time we will truly receive proof but for now we take each step in ones own unique reality show, and open our emotion tools to learn from one another.
